HULU SELANGOR : MIC SEAT BUT UMNO DECIDE ON CANDIDATE

It seems very clear that MIC is in a losing battle to get its only nominated candidate Deputy President Datuk G Palanivel for the Hulu Selangor parliamentary by-elections.

The Barisan Nasional which is dominated by UMNO wants to place a compromising candidate but NOT Datuk G Palanivel.

Datuk G Palanivel has served 3 terms as MP for Hulu Selangor but during the last 2008 general elections he lost to the Opposition with a mere 198 votes.

But on the ground, Datuk Palanivel had not kept up to his promises and not taken care of the welfare of the Hulu Selangor residents and voters. Even MIC members have always been raising this problem but MIC just ignores them since they are considered 'small fry' and only those within the 'circle' were benefitting. With HINDRAF, Malaysian Indians including MIC members have woken-up and realise that MIC is not a force to be reckon within the BN coalition.

Latest word is that party information chief P Kamalanathan is the choice candidate although he was NOT the one approved by the MIC CWC body.

It looks that its time MIC withdraws itself from BN, to show their dissatisfaction.

Whatever the circumstances, with internal problems in BN, the voters may more likely vote with a greater and bigger majority for the Opposition candidate, Datuk Zaid Ibrahim in the Hulu Selangor by-elections.

We need to wait and see for the announcement at 4pm by DPM and Deputy BN chief, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
